The pika is a member of the order Lagomorpha which includes all rabbits and hares. Pika are highly social and vocal compared with the other lagomorphs. The herbivorous pika lives in colonies where they store cut grasses for winter. This diurnal species is found dwelling among rocky outcrops and in rock slides within mountain ranges.
